Cloud Backup & Disaster Recovery - Powered by Cove

Delivering Cove's direct-to-cloud backup and disaster recovery solution to protect and recover your business data.

Traditional backup solutions were built for a different era. Cove Data Protection from N-able takes a fundamentally different approach: cloud-first, appliance-free, and designed to get your business back online fast, whatever the cause of disruption.

At Kick, we deliver Cove Data Protection as a fully managed service for organisations across Scotland and the UK. Common Questions

Cove Data Protection is a cloud-first backup and disaster recovery solution from N-able, delivered by Kick ICT as a fully managed service. It protects physical and virtual servers, workstations, and Microsoft 365 data from a single web-based management console, with cloud storage included in the price.

Traditional backup products typically rely on on-site appliances and were built for on-premise environments. Cove was designed cloud-first, which means backups are stored off the local network by default, making them inherently more resilient against ransomware. Its TrueDelta architecture also moves significantly less data than image-based backup, allowing more frequent backups without the network overhead.

Yes. Because Cove stores backups directly in its private cloud, off your local network, they are out of reach of ransomware attacks that target locally stored backup data. Mandatory two-factor authentication and AES 256-bit end-to-end encryption add further layers of protection around access and data security.

Cove supports recovery point objectives as tight as 15 minutes with automated backups running throughout the day. The Standby Image feature creates a bootable image after every backup, meaning recovery can begin almost immediately. Depending on your environment and recovery target, local, secondary site, or Azure, your systems can typically be restored within hours.

Yes, Cove includes Microsoft 365 backup as part of its solution. For organisations whose primary concern is protecting Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams data, we also offer Datto SaaS Protection as a dedicated Microsoft 365 backup solution.

Not sure if Cove is the right fit for you?

Every business has different infrastructure, different risk tolerance, and different recovery requirements. Cove is an excellent fit for organisations running mixed physical and virtual environments, those looking to move away from appliance-based backup, and businesses that want a single solution covering servers, workstations, and cloud data.

If your environment is primarily Microsoft 365, our Datto SaaS Protection solution may be a better starting point. If you need a broader conversation about your overall disaster recovery strategy, our team can walk you through the options - with no jargon and no pressure.
